On May 13th, Oriana Masternak will participate in a conference at the Violin Department of the Academy of Music in Lviv, devoted to the pedagogical principles of violinist-performer education, where she will deliver a lecture entitled “Krakow Violin School – Masters and the Genealogy of Tradition.” In her presentation, Oriana is primarily interested in the continuity of tradition, understood not as a history confined to archives, but as a real master-student relationship that continues to shape our way of thinking about sound, phrasing, and performance responsibility. She also explores what of this tradition truly remains alive and active in practice today.
The conference will be held online—for obvious reasons—but it’s all the more important that this conversation can take place.
