“The Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music invites you to a free workshop series in February entitled “Around Music.” These educational and artistic lectures and discussions offer opportunities to meet artists such as Kaja Danczowska, Jacek Dumanowski, Łukasz Syrnicki, and Maria Shetty.

The series is part of the research project “Krakow Violin School – Origins, Idiom, Development Prospects.” The project’s mission is to preserve, understand, and disseminate the heritage of the Krakow Violin School—one of the most important and longest-developing performance traditions in Polish musical culture.

Through archiving and new artistic productions, researchers aim not only to protect this heritage but also to make it alive and accessible. Wioletta Gawlik discusses the details with the project leader, Prof. Oriana Masternak, Head of the Department of Violin and Viola at the Karol Penderecki Academy of Music”.
